At TraumaPhysio, we support people after life-changing injuries; helping them rebuild their lives, confidence, and independence. From complex orthopaedic trauma to post-surgical rehab and limb loss recovery, our work is challenging, meaningful, and always personal. We believe brilliant rehab doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in living rooms, parks, clinics and communities, with partners, children and friends. That’s why we meet people where they are and build aspirational programmes around what matters most to them.
Our Orthopaedic Trauma Physiotherapists help children and adults following serious and complex injuries including fractures, joint replacement, amputation, muscular injuries (including degloving) and ligamentous injury. TraumaPhysio has extensive experience in providing treatment to individuals during and following litigation and recognises the important role and responsibilities we assume when providing rehabilitation to this client group. TraumaPhysio accepts instructions to complete Initial Needs Assessments (INA) to identify rehabilitation requirements and to provide recommendations for treatment, technology and equipment needs. Our reports are comprehensive, and our treatment programmes are goal directed and holistic. We welcome initial enquiries and offer meet and greet consultations via video without charge to ensure that our Orthopaedic Trauma Physiotherapist is the most appropriate for the client and to begin the process of establishing a therapeutic relationship.
TraumaPhysio provides effective, targeted treatment. Our Physiotherapists maintain high levels of professional standards and training which means that our treatment approaches are constantly evolving to ensure they’re the very best.
Orthopaedic Trauma Physiotherapy treatments can broadly be divided into those that look to directly change the nature of the condition and others that train the body to compensate for a loss of function or utilise aids and strategies to adapt to a permanent change.
TraumaPhysio treatments can therefore be very varied but it’s often important that they’re progressive and specific to whatever movement or task the client wants to do. To achieve this we provide structured exercises supported by videos and photographs, hands-on treatment, video analysis, retraining of movement, assistive technology, equipment /splint/support provision and community focussed activities.
TraumaPhysio is open Monday to Friday, 9a.m. to 5p.m. If we are in a consultation and unable to answer your call please leave a message and one of our team will return it as soon as possible. You can also make enquires via our contact page.

Orthopaedic Trauma Physiotherapy is a specialist area of physiotherapy concerning the treatment of orthopaedic problems such as fractures, joint replacement, joint dislocation, soft tissue injuries such as degloving, tendon damage or tears, and associated problems such as reduced range of movement, pain and muscle wasting.
Injuries of this nature can have a significant effect on a person’s ability to complete the activities that matter most to them. Trauma and orthopaedic physios provide treatments that can be highly beneficial in assisting the recovery of movement, managing pain, improving stability, and regaining the ability to complete important day to day activities.
Our expert trauma and orthopaedic Physiotherapists help people recovering from a wide range of problems such as bone, joint, muscular, tendinous or ligamentous injuries and pain. We have provided rehabilitation following complex fractures, joint replacements, fusion surgery and reconstructive surgery.

TraumaPhysio provides a comprehensive domiciliary service in Herts, Essex, South Bedfordshire, East Buckinghamshire, North London and East London. Our provision is however expanding, so if you are outside of these areas please do make an enquiry and if we are unable to help we can point you in the right direction.
TraumaPhysio welcomes informal enquiries in the first instance to ensure that we are the very best option for your client. Following the initial enquiry we would expect to provide a CV for the treating Orthopaedic Trauma Physiotherapist, our Terms & Conditions in addition to a professional conformance declaration.
TraumaPhysio assessments are comprehensive and specific to each person’s needs. The Physiotherapist will discuss what has led the client to seek treatment and find out a little about their background and the impact that the condition is having on them before deciding upon the most appropriate method of assessment. This is likely to involve some specific testing of their strength, joint movement, muscle flexibility, coordination and any additional special tests relevant to their presentation and needs. The physio will also want to see how they are able to move themselves with functional activities and may want to observe them completing any problematic tasks.
At the end of the initial consultation we will always discuss the findings of our assessment and how they relate to the problems that the client is experiencing, before agreeing the most suitable treatment approach. At TraumaPhysio we aim to start treating within the first session and will likely provide some specific advice or exercises to begin the client’s rehabilitation.
This really depends on the nature of the client’s condition, the problems that they are experiencing, their goals, the treatment plans of other team members and how they would prefer to work. For some people a single session with some specific advice and an exercise prescription may be sufficient, whilst others may benefit most from a period of more intensive trauma rehabilitation. TraumaPhysio makes recommendations that are specific for each person we see as one size certainly does not fit all.
TraumaPhysio is a domiciliary and community-based service. Our consultations often begin in the person’s own home, but we would usually expect to integrate a community focus to the rehabilitation programme and develop inter-disciplinary goals. This may include local mobility practice, public transport, gym visits, workplace sessions as well as more aspirational activities such as climbing, kayaking or snowsports.
Our physio team use a range of subjective and objective measures to quantify deficits and record progress. This includes self-reported outcome measures, clinical testing, functional measurements, movement analysis with technology and SMART goal planning.
TraumaPhysio consultations are by appointment only and can be arranged by contacting us on 0800 915 3288 or emailing hello@physio4you.co.uk.
You do not need a referral to see a Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, though we often work closely with other medical professionals. If you have any clinic letters or discharge reports relating to your treatment to date these can be useful to bring to your initial consultations however.
Trauma and Orthopaedic physiotherapy consultations are charged at £100/hour. We pride ourselves in providing a comprehensive service and all of our consultations are therefore one hour in duration.

After an extremely traumatic event where I sustained life changing injuries I was introduced to Jason who became not just my physiotherapist but also my confidant and therapist! And this is what makes this place and the people that work there so special!
The empathy and understanding was like nothing I had experienced before, whilst Jason has not experienced such injuries himself, his skill, understanding and compassion meant that he could support me not just physically but mentally too...
