Rehabilitation Technology

Take your rehab to the next level with our integrated approach which includes technology to aid your recovery.

About Rehabilitation Technology

TraumaPhysio are recognised for our innovative approaches to improving recovery.

At TraumaPhysio we may include rehabilitation technology within our rehabilitation programmes in addition to exercise prescription, hands-on therapy and pain management approaches. Technology can play an important role in supporting our understanding of your problem and help to increase practice levels and improve your results.

Movement Analysis

TraumaPhysio are one of the few centres in the UK to adopt high tech digital movement analysis using the ‘Baiobit’ to more accurately assess your movements such as walking, balance and jumping. The Baiobit also provides simultaneous feedback for practice of these fundamental tasks.

This provides a detailed picture of your ability and enables your physiotherapist to develop your treatment programme and to inform progression such as returning to sport. These unique insights cannot be gained through traditional clinical measurement and the Baiobit is increasingly used in high level competitive sport.

Electrical Stimulation

Muscle stimulation and Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) have proven benefits for people recovering from muscle trauma, pain and nerve injuries. At TraumaPhysio we have experience of using electrical stimulation which can help you to regain lost movement and to build muscle size. Our team have access to a variety of muscle stimulators which can form part of your rehabilitation programme.

Electrical muscle stimulation can be particularly useful when pain limits movement or if your ability to make your muscle(s) contract is limited. This painless approach uses small currents, via sticky or cloth electrodes on the skin, to trigger a muscle contraction and promote recovery of lost function.

Helen worked with my 88 year old Mum following her knee replacement. I was very very impressed. Personable, knowledgeable, supportive, she got my Mum full mobilised and back playing bowls. She had her operation in November 2018 and was she was back playing bowls in January 2019. My Mum has now had a refurbishment of her replacement hip and I have no hesitation in going back to her and recommending her to others.

Andrew Mcculloch

An inner ear problem last July that developed into vestibular neuritis led to problems with the muscles, nerves and joints in my neck which caused nausea, dizziness, vision problems as well as the usual aches and pain. In February I came to the Physio4 You team in despair. Rachel did a thorough vestibular assessment and was able to reassure me that the vestibular problem was resolved. I was then given Helen’s details for the neck issues. She has been a real Godsend. She is calm, friendly, reassuring and professional. After a thorough exam in which she listened carefully to my history of symptoms, she took time to explain what the problem was and a plan for treatment going forward. This problem has caused me real anxiety at times. She set my mind at rest that I will get better. I am still undergoing treatment but there has been a vast improvement. She takes time to answer all my questions and I always leave feeling so positive. I would thoroughly recommend their services
