How We Work

Lasting, Meaningful, Results.

TraumaPhysio is a team of dedicated, specialist orthopaedic trauma physiotherapists offering services to adults in the community.

We will provide you with a friendly, enthusiastic and professional service, with effective treatments based on the latest evidence in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Our flexible and positive approach to physiotherapy is focused on improving your situation and will be unique to you.

At TraumaPhysio believe that you deserve the opportunity to get back to the life you had before your injury. We understand that finding the right person to help with a particular problem or goal is central to this. That’s why we offer an initial ‘meet and greet’ video or phone call without charge to answer any questions that you may have and to ensure that we that have an understanding of why you have sought treatment.

All physiotherapists working at TraumaPhysio are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and are members of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Our Mission

“To provide each person that we see with compassionate and aspirational trauma rehabilitation, which realises their full potential and maintains our core values of excellence, integrity and empathy.”

Your Recovery Plan

TraumaPhysio assessments are comprehensive. Your Physiotherapist will work hard to get to the root of your problem and take time to fully understand how you have been affected and the impact your problem is having on your life. All physio assessments are likely to include a thorough discussion of your problem, movement screening and specific testing. Your TraumaPhysio will discuss your diagnosis and explain the findings of your physiotherapy assessment before agreeing recommendations of the most effective personal treatment programme.
Your Recovery Plan

Our trauma rehabilitation programmes are unique to each individual as no two situations are the same. Your TraumaPhysio will agree a treatment plan with you to meet your goals and address the problems identified at the initial assessment.

For some this may simply be a few tips and a prescribed programme to get the ball rolling, whilst others may benefit from a more intensive period of treatment and ongoing support. TraumaPhysio has experience in utilising a range of different treatment techniques and will discuss and agree the best approach for your particular circumstances.

Your physio will answer any questions that you may have with complete honesty and will always be happy to discuss your rehabilitation options. In short, if we think that a particular physiotherapy treatment will benefit you, we’ll tell you. If we think that we’ve done all we can, we’ll discuss the reasons why and help you plan the next steps in your recovery.

After Treatment

Although your rehabilitation with us will come to an end, we know that you’ll continue to make progress and may need advice to progress and manage your own programme. Your TraumaPhysio therapist remains available to you to answer any questions and keep you on track.

Helen worked with my 88 year old Mum following her knee replacement. I was very very impressed. Personable, knowledgeable, supportive, she got my Mum full mobilised and back playing bowls. She had her operation in November 2018 and was she was back playing bowls in January 2019. My Mum has now had a refurbishment of her replacement hip and I have no hesitation in going back to her and recommending her to others.

An inner ear problem last July that developed into vestibular neuritis led to problems with the muscles, nerves and joints in my neck which caused nausea, dizziness, vision problems as well as the usual aches and pain. In February I came to the Physio4 You team in despair. Rachel did a thorough vestibular assessment and was able to reassure me that the vestibular problem was resolved. I was then given Helen’s details for the neck issues. She has been a real Godsend. She is calm, friendly, reassuring and professional. After a thorough exam in which she listened carefully to my history of symptoms, she took time to explain what the problem was and a plan for treatment going forward. This problem has caused me real anxiety at times. She set my mind at rest that I will get better. I am still undergoing treatment but there has been a vast improvement. She takes time to answer all my questions and I always leave feeling so positive. I would thoroughly recommend their services
